Frequently Asked
Questions
Can I bring a date/plus one?
Your invite will be made out to “Your Name & Guest”
if a plus one has been given to you. Thank you for understanding!
Is this a kid friendly wedding?
While we adore your children, we have opted to keep our ceremony and reception as an adults-only event. We encourage you to use this weekend as a fun getaway/date night! We appreciate you making prior arrangements so you can celebrate with us.
What is the dress code?
Dress Code Theme:
Modern Fiesta: Mexican Heart, Jacquemus Art
It should be formal, and think bright colors,
vibrant, fun, and chic. Please refer to the Dress Code page where we’ve provided a moodboard and direction!
Should I bring dollars or pesos?
Both! Be sure to exchange your cash ahead of your trip
to Mexican pesos (MXN). If you are looking to order pesos from your bank, it usually takes about 2-5 business days to exchange, therefore we advise you to make that request from your bank no later than a week in advance from your departure.
Also, during the wedding ceremony we will celebrate our cultures through traditional “money dances” where guests are encouraged to spray cash onto the bride and groom — get ready to throw some dollars!
Is Mexico City Safe?
We have been to Mexico City more times than we can count and can assure you we have always felt just as safe as we have in the United States, if not safer. With that being said, just as you would in any major city, be smart and alert, do not flaunt loads of cash, and keep your belongings close. You’ll be good :)
When should I be ready for the wedding ceremony?
Our wedding ceremony and reception will be held in the beautiful city of Tepoztlán (1.5 hours outside of Mexico City). Transportation will be provided for all guests to and from the venue, with specific details (pickup location, time, etc.) shared at our
welcome event the night prior.
What’s the easiest way to get around in CDMX?
We suggest using Uber for travel to and from the airport, as well as within CDMX — it's convenient and reasonably priced! However, most neighborhoods are walkable. Before your arrival in Mexico, please ensure that you have checked your cell/mobile
international plans.
What is the primary language spoken in Mexico?
Spanish/Español!
With the influx of tourism and immigrants from the United States moving to Mexico, more and more people are speaking English in CDMX. However, it is still a Spanish speaking country. We encourage you to make an effort and speak to locals in Spanish, even if it’s a simple hello (hola) or thank you (gracias), your effort goes a long way and shows a sign of respect.
But don’t be afraid to whip out google translate!
Can I drink the tap water in Mexico City?
As foreigners, it is recommended to stay away from drinking the tap water in CDMX, especially if it’s your first time. This includes at restaurants/bars, and at your airbnbs/hotels. However, bottles of water are readily available throughout the city and should not be a problem — just plan on visiting the local OXXO or grocery store in Roma Norte, La Condesa, or Polanco, they’re everywhere!
When should I arrive in Mexico?
Our wedding is on Saturday, January 18th, 2025,
and festivities will start the day before on
Friday, January 17th, 2025.
We urge that you arrive the day before on
Thursday, January 16th, 2025 to avoid any and
all unexpected travel delays.
